Position Overview
We are seeking a SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer to serve as the dedicated expert for IdentityIQ optimization. This role combines hands-on technical delivery with strategic architectural support, ensuring IdentityIQ is fully leveraged to streamline identity governance, enhance security, and meet compliance objectives.
You will work closely with the Primary Enterprise Architect to execute the full IAM architecture vision while mentoring IT staff and documenting best practices.
Key Responsibilities
SailPoint Expertise

Act as the subject matter expert for SailPoint IdentityIQ.

Align IdentityIQ capabilities with the enterprise architecture.

Identify and implement underutilized features to maximize ROI.
Hands-On Technical Delivery
- Configure, customize, and optimize IdentityIQ components.

Develop connectors, workflows, and rules using Java, Beanshell, and SailPoint APIs.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex IAM issues in real time.

Monitor server resource utilization and recommend resource allocation improvements.
Strategic Architecture Support

Provide technical depth to support enterprise-level designs.

Contribute to the IAM roadmap, integrating IdentityIQ with HR systems, cloud apps, and legacy platforms.
Security & Compliance

Ensure IdentityIQ configurations meet FERPA, HIPAA, and PCI standards.

Implement audit-ready processes for certifications and reporting.
Knowledge Transfer & Mentorship

Train IT staff on IdentityIQ best practices.

Develop documentation and operational standards.
Required Qualifications
Certification:
- SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer (or equivalent)
Experience:
-
5+ years in IAM, with 3+ years in SailPoint IdentityIQ architecture and deployment

Proven success optimizing IdentityIQ environments for large enterprises
Technical Skills:
-
Expertise in IdentityIQ business continuity using Services Standard Deployment (SSD) builds

Experience scaling and optimizing IdentityIQ servers (RHEL w/ JBoss 7, Kubernetes w/ Tomcat 9)

Strong Java, Beanshell, SailPoint API, and custom connector development skills

Deep understanding of identity lifecycle management, RBAC, and governance workflows
Soft Skills:

Strong collaboration with enterprise architects and cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and documentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications

Integration experience with SAP-HCM, PeopleSoft, Active Directory, Azure AD, Google Workspace, MySQL/MSSQL/PLSQL

Familiarity with NIST and ISO 27001 security frameworks

Prior experience in higher education or large enterprise environments
