Electrical Specialist

Location: Saginaw, MI

Pay: $25/hour

Long term contract role


Position Summary

The Electrical Specialist is a highly skilled expert, capable of independently executing and overseeing complex electrical tasks with minimal supervision. This "Top Performer" role is responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work, ensuring project quality, and resolving technical challenges in a dynamic manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

-     Leadership & Supervision:

-     Plan, assign, and direct electrical work; resolve job-related technical issues.

-     Interpret company policies, enforce safety regulations, and implement build schedules.

-     Assign duties based on blueprints, specifications, and job orders.

-     Motivate and support workers to achieve project goals; participate in continuous improvement activities.

-     Confer with leaders across departments to coordinate activities and breakpoints for cable tray, piping, and fence teardown.

-     Attend and actively participate in team meetings.

-     Technical & Quality:

-     Interpret blueprints, specifications, and E-BOM summaries.

-     Regularly update and communicate E-BOM summaries to the Electrical Supervisor.

-     Assist PLC Programmers in troubleshooting and tool functionality.

-     Estimate, inspect, and organize materials; maintain tidy job shelves and written work plans (daily/weekly).

-     Ensure adherence to the Quality System and identify opportunities for process improvement.

-     Safety & Compliance:

-     Understand and follow safety and environmental regulations.

-     Proactively identify and address safety/environmental concerns.

-     Uphold safe work practices throughout all operations.

-     Other Duties:

-     Material follow-up as necessary.

-     Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function.

Education & Experience

-     

-     Associate degree from an accredited college or university, OR

-     Minimum of 10 years of related experience, OR

-     Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.


Skills & Competencies

-     Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, blueprints, business periodicals, and regulations.

-     Strong mathematical skills, including probability, statistical inference, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

-     Reports and correspondence writing; procedure manual documentation.

-     Effective verbal and written presentation skills with the ability to respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public.

-     Practical problem-solving with the ability to adapt to a variety of situations with limited standardization.

-     Able to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

-     Excellent organizational skills.


Physical Requirements & Work Environment

-     Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling.

-     Occasional sitting; frequent lifting/moving up to 10 pounds, occasional lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.

-     Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

-     Working environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock risk, and occasional work at heights.

-     Noise level is usually moderate.
