Machine Builder

Location: Lake Orion, MI

Pay: 25-28/hour

Long term contract

**Must be willing to travel to OH facilities for installations**


Job Summary

The Machine Builder will be responsible for the mechanical assembly of equipment per detailed mechanical drawings, ensuring the highest quality and safety standards. This role requires significant travel to Honda plants in Marysville, OH, and East Liberty, OH.


Key Responsibilities

-     Assemble equipment according to mechanical drawings and specifications.

-     Document and communicate any changes and problems encountered during the build.

-     Execute ISO Quality standards.

-     Communicate open issues and progress with the Machine Build Lead throughout the build process.

-     Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area.

-     Execute assigned programs to deliver on cost, quality, timing, and customer satisfaction.

-     Assist in preparing material for secondary processes (finishing, heat treat, deburring).

-     Efficiently and safely operate shop equipment, including:

-     Mills

-     Lathes

-     Drill presses

-     Surface grinders

-     Saws

-     Shears

-     Presses

-     Carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

-     Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

-     High school diploma or equivalent required; related vocational education preferred.

-     Must have (or be able to obtain upon hire):

-     Hi-Lo (Forklift) license

-     Aerial Platform license

-     Overhead Crane license

-     Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) training

-     Proven mechanical aptitude with focus on safety and quality.

-     Intermediate proficiency in reading part and assembly drawings.

-     Basic computer skills.

-     Ability to accept direction and work as part of a team or individually.

Work Conditions

-     Mandatory travel to Honda plants: Marysville, OH and East Liberty, OH.

-     Work hours: Day shift, can start as early as 7am.

-     Must be open to all shifts as assigned.

-     Can work up to 72 hours per week (currently averaging 56 hours/week).
