Position Title: Field Service Technician (FST)
Location: JBER Anchorage, Alaska
Position Description: The Field Service Technician (FST) will provide on-site support to the US Army, US Army National Guard, and/or Reserves for the Cold Weather, All-Terrain Vehicle (CATV), which replaces the Small Unit Support Vehicle (SUSV). The candidate must be capable of delivering a range of services for all CATV models.
Skills Required:
- Initial Mechanic training from the US Military or a Civilian Automotive/Heavy Truck Institute.
- Experience and skills to perform general maintenance for the CATV vehicle and systems, including Drive Train, Suspension, Electrical, Hydraulic, and HVAC.
- Willingness to enhance basic skills through hands-on learning, coaching, and mentoring.
- Ability to provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance support to the US Military in garrison or field environments.
- Capability to perform warranty claim repairs, modifications, upgrades, and retrofits of the CATV vehicle and its sub-systems, as needed.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Compliance with all company policies, procedures, and government contract requirements.
- Ability to work as part of a team and in limited circumstances, independently and self-supervised.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid US Passport.
- Valid state-issued Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass a pre-screen background investigation check.
- Qualification for and maintenance of a US Government issued Common Access Card.
- Physical capability to perform maintenance tasks in extreme cold weather environments for extended periods.
Skills Preferred:
- Military Maintenance MOS trained with at least 4 years of military service in Heavy Track, Wheel, or Engineer Equipment MOSs with a Military Grade E-4 or higher, OR
- Civilian training through an Automotive or Heavy Truck certification program and 4 years' experience in the same field.
Experience Required:
- Military Maintenance MOS trained with at least 6 years of military service in Heavy Track, Wheel, or Engineer Equipment MOSs with a Military Grade E-5 or higher, OR
- Civilian training through an Automotive or Heavy Truck certification program and 6 years’ experience.
- OSHA Training (10-Hour Safety Course).
Education Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Military Maintainer MOS Training or Civilian Automotive/Heavy Truck Institute training.
