Type of Position:

6-month contract role to start. Possible for extension, long term good chance for direct hire.


Job Location:

New Hudson, MI (on site role).


Compensation:

$20.00/hr to $25.00/hr (depending on experience).


Benefits:

  • Available (health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, etc) – benefit eligibility will begin 1st of the month after 30 days employment.
  • This role will have 9 days PTO (PTO accrues over time). In going direct hire, there will be significantly more PTO.

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a leading engineering and product development company known for its innovative solutions across motorsports, defense, and new mobility. From developing world-class motorsport vehicles to advanced defense systems and autonomous platforms,our company is at the forefront of high-performance engineering. We’re currently seeking a Waterjet Operator for our facility in New Hudson, MI. This is a hands-on position that plays a key role in executing customer projects. You'll work individually or with a small team of welders, fabricators, designers, engineers, and mechanics across industries including motorsports, automotive, defense, and commercial.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate all aspects of waterjet machinery and software
  • Use work orders, drawings, specs, and/or verbal instructions to process material accurately
  • Read and interpret basic prints
  • Plan and accomplish tasks using sound judgment and prior experience
  • Track, inventory, and organize material
  • Determine required parts not in inventory and order material accordingly
  • Nest work orders to maximize material usage using nesting software
  • Operate a forklift and small crane as needed
  • Conduct regular cleaning and organization of machinery and shop space
  • Perform quality control inspections to ensure parts meet prints and company standards
  • Flex between projects with minimal supervision while meeting fixed deadlines
  • Communicate professionally (verbally and in writing) with team members and leadership
  • Monitor project progress and document milestones
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment when needed
  • Safely manage and move large volumes of material
  • Prioritize efficiency, organization, and time management in a dynamic, fast-paced environment


Education and Experience – Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of waterjet experience
  • Hands-on mechanical skills, including experience with common hand tools
  • Self-motivated and dependable, able to manage time and workflow independently
  • Comfortable with physically demanding work
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Flexibility in schedule to meet production deadlines
  • Ability to check own work and document progress
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to ITAR/EAR-controlled information (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or able to meet licensure requirements)


Education and Experience – Preferred:

  • Forklift and crane certifications
  • Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Word, Outlook, Tasks, Teams)
  • Experience rigging and moving heavy structures

Work Environment, Other Info:

  • 1st (day) shift position. This role will generally work Monday to Friday with infrequent night/weekend work to achieve deadlines.
  • No travel in this role.
  • Some exposure to moderate risk of accident and requires following basic safety precautions. Continuous moderate or occasional heavy physical activity.
  • Offers may be contingent on passing a background check and drug screen (drug screen would include Cannabis).
