Planner I
Overview
The Planner I is responsible for managing and maintaining the flow of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) schedules, finished goods inventory, and shipment processes to ensure customer satisfaction and production goals are achieved. This position supports quality and on-time delivery metrics, and requires expertise in material planning, build plans, and use of various MRP/ERP systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills while serving a diverse customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and track all PCBA and production schedules associated with the assigned facility, including work-in-process (WIP) and finished goods inventories.
- Update and maintain commit dates in the ERP system.
- Create and maintain requisitions and plans to support inter-site operations, ensuring timely project support and meeting dynamic demand requirements.
- Attend daily production meetings to stay aligned on operations and objectives.
- Review MRP requirements and available reports to determine specific material supply needs.
- Monitor and report weekly metrics to management such as on-time delivery, MRP trends, process improvement plans, and noteworthy highlights or challenges.
- Attend Material Review Board (MRB) meetings as required.
- Manage and track the status of external process jobs between facilities as needed.
- Collaborate with internal warehouse, quality, engineering, and production teams to communicate material changes and maintain effective material/WIP movements and balanced workloads.
- Clearly communicate priorities across departments to ensure all internal and external goals and objectives are met.
- Minimize exposure to excess or overstocked finished goods.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent years of experience may be considered.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supply chain or manufacturing environment with production/planning responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience in logistical planning and scheduling for time-sensitive, high-priority projects.
- Strong experience with Excel and ERP systems (Oracle and Factory Logics required; Lean DNA experience is a plus).
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexible approach, comfortable working in ambiguous situations with minimal guidance, and possesses a positive, questioning attitude.
Physical Demands
- Frequent movement of objects and use of abdominal/lower back muscles to provide sustained support; ability to position oneself to lift or move up to 40 lbs.
- Constant movement and use of limbs—prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and frequent pinching/gripping. May require extended periods of microscope work.
- Regular visual inspection, information processing, and communication—ability to distinguish near/far/color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjust focus as required.
- Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina—frequent overtime work may be required.
