Long term contract

Position Overview

Are you ready to drive innovation in the defense and aerospace industries? Join our team as a Mechanical Engineer, where your expertise in electronics—especially with printed circuit boards (PCBs)—will be instrumental in developing advanced mechanical solutions for mission-critical applications. You’ll bring together mechanical design, hands-on PCB work, and collaborative project execution to help shape the future of defense technology.

Key Responsibilities

-    Mechanical & Electro-Mechanical Design:

Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and subsystems, with a strong focus on PCBs. Utilize CAD software and engineering tools to create innovative, reliable solutions.

-    PCB Integration:

Apply hands-on experience in PCB design to ensure robust integration with mechanical assemblies, collaborating closely with electrical engineers.

-    Performance Analysis:

Conduct engineering analyses—stress, thermal (including heat transfer), vibration, and fluid dynamics—to validate designs using simulations and real-world testing.

-    Testing, Validation & Compliance:

Plan and execute thorough test protocols to ensure industry compliance (including VITA and SOSA standards). Document results for regulatory and client review.

-    Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

Work cross-functionally with electrical, structural, and systems teams to deliver well-integrated systems.

-    Continuous Innovation:

Stay up-to-date on emerging aerospace technologies, materials, and standards. Propose and implement new solutions to improve product performance and manufacturability.

-    Manufacturing & Production Support:

Provide expert guidance to manufacturing teams, troubleshoot design-related production issues, and optimize for cost-effective manufacturing.

-    Documentation & Reporting:

Prepare technical documents, specifications, test plans, and compliance reports as required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

-    Experience:

-    2–3 years of hands-on experience in electronics, specifically with PCB design and integration.

-    Experience within defense or aerospace preferred, or strong interest in these industries.

-    Familiarity with VITA and SOSA standards is a major plus.

-    Technical Proficiencies:

-    Advanced skills with CAD modeling tools (examples: SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).

-    Exposure to PCB design software/tools.

-    Knowledge of heat transfer, stress analysis, and mechanical system validation.

-    Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:

Demonstrated expertise in analyzing and solving complex engineering challenges efficiently.

-    Collaboration & Communication:

Strong ability to work within interdisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to varied audiences.

-    Attention to Detail:

Commitment to precision in design, documentation, and testing.

-    Adaptability:

Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced engineering environment, and adapt quickly to project changes and evolving priorities.
