Position Overview:
HRU Technical Resources is working with a major defense contractor to hire highly skilled Field Service Technicians to support the deployment and maintenance of our Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV). This role will be responsible for fielding new equipment, providing technical services, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and ensuring minimal disruption to unit operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, familiarity with military technical manuals, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in diverse environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field new Amphibious Combat Vehicles (ACV) and related systems to gaining units.
- Assist units with services, inspections, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, parts identification, and repairs.
- Interpret and use a variety of engineering drawings and schematics.
- Conduct repairs, part replacements, and technical modifications per established guidelines.
- Operate power tools, lifting devices, and support equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Provide detailed technical feedback and communicate effectively with Field Service Representatives, project teams, and unit personnel.
- Work collaboratively in diverse cultural and operational environments, maintaining professionalism and tact.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required at a minimum.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the mechanical, electrical, or electronic maintenance of relevant military products.
- Knowledge of military maintenance systems (all levels of repair).
- At least 3–4 years’ Amphibious Combat Vehicle experience.
- Two years’ experience performing ACV FSR duties or in a related MOS (2141, 2147, 2149, or 2110) with ACV operation/maintenance focus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with hand tools, shop tools, micrometers, depth gauges, and finish gauges.
- Must meet requirements for drug screening and background checks as this role is tied to a federal defense contractor.
- Candidates must have a minimum of interim Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree, or completion of military technical school is preferred.
- Experience with FIAT Powertrain or Allison transmission systems, including Cursor 16 Engine series.
- Certification in Allison powertrains.
- Experience with Marine Expeditionary Unit operations (2–3 years).
- Prior role as an ACV Field Service Representative (FSR) or equivalent.
- Active Secret Security Clearance is highly desired (or having had an Active Secret Security Clearance within the past 2 years).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work Hours: 32+ regular hours/week
- Shift: Standard schedule; shift times may vary.
- This position requires frequent travel and hands-on technical work in both workshop and field environments. 50% travel both domestically and possibly internationally.
