Location: Marriottsville, MD

Pay: $24–27/hour

Schedule: 9/80 work schedule, 7:30 AM start time

Type: Contract with potential to go direct

Industry: Defense – Supporting U.S. Department of Defense programs


Job Description

The Electro-Mechanical Quality Inspector supports all incoming, in-process, and final inspections, including customer source inspections, to ensure products meet customer and industry standards. Responsibilities include performing spot checks, sampling, first-piece verification, and 100% inspections when required. This role verifies compliance of in-process materials, documents inspection results accurately, and identifies defects or non-conformities while collaborating with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve issues. The inspector investigates root causes, implements corrective and preventive actions, and documents all non-conformities. Additional duties include supporting first-piece verification runs, conducting regular line audits to ensure documentation, tooling, and consumables are within specification, and promoting proper ESD, PPE, FOD, calibration, and ISO compliance. The position also requires operating appropriate inspection equipment.


Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of quality assurance experience in electro-mechanical, bare PCB, or mechanical enclosure inspection within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with MMIC technology (amplifiers, attenuators, filters, switches, etc.)
  • Ability to work up to 8 hours per day using a microscope
  • Familiarity with IPC industry standards
  • High school diploma


Preferred Qualifications

  • J-STD-001 Class 3 and/or IPC-610 certification
  • Experience in ISO-9001 and/or AS9100 environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide real-time feedback
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Customer-focused mindset with commitment to zero defects
  • Strong documentation and computer skills
  • Industry-relevant inspection or quality control experience
  • Willingness to cross-train across multiple quality functions
