CAD Engineer

Location: Oxnard, CA

Compensation: $40–$42/hr

Contract position- 3 months with the opportunity to be extended.

 

What You’ll Do

-     Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and architects to translate ideas into detailed technical drawings and specifications.

-     Create and modify highly accurate 2D and 3D models, drawings, and blueprints using SolidWorks 2022, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor.

-     Ensure all designs meet or exceed industry standards, with focus on ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 (2018 preferred).

-     Incorporate manufacturability and metals machining considerations into all of your designs.

-     Review and analyze drawings to catch errors, resolve issues, and optimize for both efficiency and production.

-     Support prototyping and testing, adapting designs as needed for the best possible outcomes.

-     Maintain meticulous documentation of all changes and revisions.

-     Manage configuration requirements (ECOs, document revision control), ideally using DIGITHREAD engineering change software.

-     Stay current with CAD software advancements and recommend ways to innovate and improve.

What You Bring

-     At least 2 years of experience in a CAD Engineer or similar technical role.

-     Proficient in SolidWorks (SW 2022 required), AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor.

-     Skilled in interpretation of ASME standards (Y14.100, Y14.5—2018 preferred).

-     Comfortable designing for machined metal processes.

-     Familiarity with configuration management (engineering change orders, document revision control), and preferably experience with DIGITHREAD.

-     Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (preferred).

-     Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration.

-     Meticulous attention to detail, technical precision, and strong organizational abilities.

-     Willingness and ability to work on-site at Oxnard, CA.
