Inventory Control Clerk (Defense)
Location: Louisville, KY. On-Site
Pay: $37.62/hour
Pay: 7AM-4PM (9/80 schedule)

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Government Property Administrator to manage and oversee government-owned property at our facility and associated sites. This onsite role is responsible for maintaining auditable records, ensuring regulatory compliance (FAR/DFARS), and supporting inventory, logistics, and reporting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience with FAR 52.245-1, FAR Part 45, DFARS Part 245, and bring strong skills in government property or material control.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain thorough, auditable records for government property, including acquisition, receipt, identification, inventory, utilization, reporting, maintenance, disposition, and contract closeout.
- Ensure all records provide proper authority to possess property and maintain a clear audit trail across all stages of the property lifecycle.
- Prepare and submit accurate internal and external reports, including those related to Loss, Theft, Damage or Destruction (LTDD), Reports of Discrepancy (RODs), and required submissions for PIEE/GFP modules, IUID registry, and annual property tax/inventory reports.
- Receive, identify, and record assets into appropriate management systems.
- Ensure strict compliance with company policies, relevant contractual obligations, and FAR/DFARS requirements regarding government property.
- Participate in site audits and reviews of vendor/subcontractor property controls and support self-assessments for procedural and regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with internal departments (Management, Purchasing, Subcontracts, Program Management) and government representatives (including DCMA Property Administrators) for issue resolution and compliance.
- Coordinate with Contract Administrators and Program Managers to identify and dispose of excess government property per contract completion requirements.
- Oversee disposal of excess materials, collaborating with Government Plant Clearance Officers and Procuring Contracting Officers.
- Regularly update management on property control status, issues, and compliance.
- Maintain accurate, complete records reflecting the complete life cycle ("cradle-to-grave") for all assets.
- Proactively identify property issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Conduct periodic physical inventories of government property.
- Remain current with evolving industry standards, government regulations, and best practices.
- Ensure a safe work environment, complying with organizational and regulatory safety policies.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience
OR
Associate degree and 4 years of relevant experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and 2 years of relevant experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in defense property/material control
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with:
- Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.245-1 & Part 45
- Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Part 245
- Logistics, warehousing, and inventory control
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and property/inventory management systems
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making in compliance-driven environments
Key Skills & Competencies

- Ability to interpret, draft, and revise procedures and property-related reports per federal contract requirements
- Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
