๐Ÿš€ Position Overview

Join a cutting-edge team driving innovation in vehicle power systems! We're seeking an experienced Electrical Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and integrate electrical power distribution and management hardware for advanced vehicle platforms. This is a hands-on, dynamic role that combines design, testing, and supplier collaboration within a fast-paced R&D environment.


๐Ÿ”ง Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and support integration of electrical power distribution and energy management components.
  • Develop and simulate models for vehicle power systems.
  • Author detailed technical documentation: specs, requirements, interface definitions, and fabrication documents.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for lab and vehicle environments.
  • Lead issue resolution related to vehicle power systems, from root cause analysis to corrective actions.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams and suppliers to align on system requirements and ensure delivery excellence.
  • Contribute to trade studies, risk assessments, and technical decision-making processes.
  • Track and manage cost, weight, and power allocations throughout project lifecycles.
  • Create and maintain Technical Data Packages (TDPs) and follow Engineering Release Plans (ERP).
  • Evaluate and guide supplier proposals, designs, and test activities to meet program needs.
  • Prepare and present materials for design reviews, internal milestones, and customer meetings.
  • Support prototype builds and field testing initiatives at various U.S. partner sites.


โœ… Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline (Masterโ€™s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience with high-voltage (HV) electrical propulsion, generation, or energy storage systems.
  • Strong background in automotive, heavy-duty vehicle, or military ground vehicle power systems.
  • Experience with tools such as TeamCenter (PLM), Cameo, and Capital Logic.
  • Proficient with 3D modeling data manipulation and technical analysis.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal oversight, including remote collaboration.


๐Ÿ›  Nice-to-Have

  • Military land vehicle experience.
  • Familiarity with design trade-off analysis, supplier evaluation, and test validation processes.

  • Primarily based at the General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) facility in Sterling Heights, MI.
  • Occasional travel to partner test sites across the U.S. may be required.
