Project Superintendent
SUMMARY
For assigned projects, plan, and direct construction operations to ensure successful completion of contract work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop and implement schedules and work plans for assigned projects
- Communicate with Customers and project team members to coordinate job schedule, changes and address any construction issues that arise
- Provide direction to field personnel and ensure all work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Ensure project documentation and quantity reporting is accurate and complete
- Develop submittals, change orders, and pay requests as assigned
- Resolve or participate in resolving construction problems
- Review and evaluate daily costs, time sheets, truck and equipment usage
- Monitor employee compliance with safety program requirements, and document and ensure corrective measures are implemented
- Coordinate and cooperate with other departments (i.e., Quality Control, Equipment) to ensure that all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc. are in place to support craft activities and project schedule
Qualifications
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in heavy highway and site development preferred
- Experience with asphalt, concrete, excavation, and underground utility construction required
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Must have good organization skills
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office essential
- Leadership and problem solving skills are essential
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
