Quality Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support manufacturing, logistics, and installation operations by applying product quality planning, evaluation, and control methodologies. This role requires strong analytical ability, excellent communication skills, and a proven background in manufacturing or logistics environments. The Quality Engineer will collaborate closely with customers, suppliers, 3PL partners, and internal teams to drive quality improvements and ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers and freight forwarders regarding quality concerns and escalations.
- Track, analyze, and publish DPMO (Defects Per Million Opportunities) reports related to shipping accuracy and quality defects.
- Manage and regularly update the Customer Quality Scorecard for the distribution center.
- Hold third-party logistics (3PL) partners accountable by leading problem-solving initiatives and implementing corrective actions for recurring or high-risk quality issues.
- Partner with 3PL teams to drive continuous improvement efforts aimed at reducing customer-impacting defects.
- Coordinate customer complaint resolution, including root-cause analysis and containment activities, with Central Customer Quality teams and onsite personnel.
- Collaborate with the onsite Supplier Quality team to address supplier-related quality issues identified by customers.
- Lead containment activities and support ongoing product and process design improvements.
- Ensure new products, processes, and changes meet quality standards through verification, data analysis, and performance tracking.
- Prioritize problems, lead corrective action plans, and support Six Sigma or other structured problem-solving projects.
- Support change management efforts by developing key metrics, performing data analysis, and preparing presentations for site leadership.
- Conduct audits of processes and quality systems to identify gaps and ensure compliance.
- Serve as a technical quality expert and mentor to other quality team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain required.
- Minimum 5 years of quality experience in manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, or warehousing.
- Strong background in logistics or manufacturing environments preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for consistent interaction with suppliers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
