Test Engineer – Server Hardware Validation

Position Overview

The Test Engineer is responsible for leading advanced debug and validation efforts for Intel-based server motherboards. This role requires deep expertise in hardware diagnostics, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to drive improvements in validation processes, test strategies, and product quality.

The ideal candidate will operate as a technical leader, collaborating across engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve complex issues and improve overall system performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause analysis and complex debug activities on server motherboard platforms
  • Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, validation procedures, and scripts
  • Collaborate with design, BIOS, firmware, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and improve product quality
  • Drive improvements in first-pass yield and system reliability
  • Identify and implement enhancements in test efficiency, automation, and workflows
  • Develop tools or scripts to support test automation and validation processes
  • Establish and promote best practices in test methodology and execution
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development
  • Document findings, test results, and validation processes clearly and accurately

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware validation, system-level debug, or similar roles
  • Strong expertise with Intel server architectures and platform features
  • Hands-on experience with debug tools such as ITP, JTAG, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes
  • Proven experience developing and executing comprehensive validation plans
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, or similar) for automation
  • Experience in manufacturing test environments or high-volume production
  • Familiarity with quality systems, reliability analysis, or Six Sigma methodologies
