Product Line Director – CBRN Systems
Position Summary
The Product Line Director (PLD) leads the development, strategy, and execution of CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) product lines. This role is responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver advanced, high-quality solutions while driving innovation, product improvements, and market competitiveness.
The PLD defines product strategy, supports new product introductions, and ensures alignment between engineering, marketing, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic direction for the CBRN product line
- Conduct competitive market analysis and identify growth opportunities
- Define product roadmaps, including enhancements, extensions, and lifecycle management
- Lead product rationalization and sunset decisions
Product Development & Engineering Support
- Provide technical guidance to engineering and R&D teams on product direction
- Oversee new product introduction (NPI) activities and project execution
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing products, including cost reduction and performance enhancements
- Ensure consistency and quality across product offerings
Project & Program Management
- Direct and oversee project management activities related to product development
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and deliverables
- Participate in technical reviews and quality assurance processes
Market & Customer Engagement
- Identify customer needs and translate requirements into product solutions
- Support customer engagement by providing technical expertise and product insights
- Develop communication strategies for product launches, including messaging, value propositions, and content
Business & Performance Analysis
- Develop business cases to support product decisions and investments
- Analyze product performance metrics, including pricing, product mix, and sales history
- Evaluate competitive positioning and market trends
Process Improvement & Governance
- Lead development of technical resources, policies, and procedures
- Support savings verification and technical quality initiatives
- Provide training and guidance across teams to ensure consistent execution
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with military-grade CBRN systems and applications
- Strong understanding of:
- CBRN filtration systems (positive and negative pressure)
- Military vehicle, shipboard, and fixed-site applications
- Electro-mechanical systems and manufacturing processes
- Experience working with engineering analysis, documentation, and tool development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with CBRN detection and decontamination systems
- Experience supporting both military and emergency response applications
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 30%, including international travel
- Must meet U.S. export compliance requirements (ITAR/EAR)
