Maintenance Technician III – 3rd Shift
Location: Ladson, SC
Pay: $36.00 per hour
Schedule: 3rd Shift | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 40 hours per week

This position requires working the 3rd shift schedule listed above. The shift hours are fixed and cannot be adjusted, so candidates must be able to work these hours to be considered.

Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical and electrical equipment within a manufacturing or production environment. This role requires a highly skilled technician who can independently identify the root cause of equipment failures and implement effective repairs to maintain operational uptime.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong analytical abilities and extensive experience troubleshooting industrial equipment. This role focuses on advanced diagnostics and repair, rather than routine or facilities maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical and electrical equipment issues in a manufacturing environment.
- Inspect, operate, and test machinery and systems to identify malfunctions and determine root causes.
- Repair or replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Assemble, install, and repair electrical wiring, electronic components, and industrial machinery systems.
- Dismantle equipment to access and replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, and other tools.
- Use precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices to troubleshoot and perform repairs.
- Inspect and repair mechanical components including drives, motors, belts, bearings, shafts, and gears.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and production efficiency.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain machine components as needed.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs performed, and associated costs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5–7 years of industrial maintenance or technical troubleshooting experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong root-cause problem-solving ability.
- Detail-oriented and capable of working effectively within a team environment.
Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge of industrial machines and tools, including their design, operation, repair, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, production systems, and quality standards.
- Understanding of engineering and technical principles related to industrial equipment.
- Experience using diagnostic tools and testing equipment for electrical and mechanical systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is best suited for a high-level maintenance technician experienced in diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues in manufacturing environments. Candidates whose experience is primarily in facilities maintenance, HVAC service, or general building maintenance may not be the best fit.
