Electrician – Airport Equipment & Infrastructure
Contract: 3 to 6 months (potential for extension)
Hours: Must be available to work any hours between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm, Mon-Fri, and weekends as needed
Compensation: $40 to 46/hour

Position Overview
The Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems supporting airport infrastructure, including Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB). This role ensures equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and adherence to electrical and safety standards.
The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting skills, experience with electrical systems and controls, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, safety-critical airport environment.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Repair
- Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on equipment and systems
- Diagnose issues using electrical testing and diagnostic tools
- Ensure proper installation and functionality of wiring, components, and systems
- Perform electrical load calculations as required
Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
- Identify potential issues and implement corrective actions
Controls & Automation
- Troubleshoot and support systems involving PLCs and motor controls
- Assist with maintaining automation and control system functionality
Documentation & Systems
- Accurately document work performed in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all electrical safety standards and protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout)
- Complete required safety training and ensure compliance with company policies
Team Collaboration
- Work effectively within a diverse, team-oriented environment
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- C-10 Electrical License or Journeyman Electrician License
- Strong experience with electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Knowledge of controls and automation systems (PLCs, motor controls)
- Understanding of electrical safety and compliance standards (LOTO, etc.)
- Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance
- Flexibility to work day or night shifts, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of electrical experience in industrial, commercial, or airport environments
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
- Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment
- Proficiency with CMMS systems and standard office software
Work Environment
- Airport operational environment with exposure to:
- Active aircraft areas and heavy equipment
- Outdoor weather conditions
- High noise levels and moving mechanical parts
- Work may be performed in confined spaces, elevated areas, and on ladders
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Strong hand-eye coordination and visual acuity (close, distance, and peripheral vision)
