Digital Communications Specialist

Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid: 3 days/week on-site at DBU HQ)

Compensation: $24.93/hour

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET


Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and talented individual to join our Enterprise Communications team as a Digital Communications Specialist. In this essential role, you will be responsible for creating, executing, and measuring content across a range of internal communication channels to keep employees informed and engaged with our organization’s priorities and initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer with excellent editing and proofreading skills, strong project management capabilities, and hands-on experience with digital communications tools.


Key Responsibilities

-     Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, craft, and distribute engaging internal communications across a variety of channels including email marketing platforms, digital signage, and the corporate intranet

-     Execute and manage editorial calendars and assist in maintaining email distribution lists

-     Develop visual assets (in partnership with other team members) to enhance the impact of internal content

-     Uphold brand standards, ensure tone consistency, and maintain adherence to AP style across all communications

-     Write, edit, and proofread a wide range of content, including company announcements, newsletters, intranet posts, and email campaigns

-     Work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

-     Track engagement metrics, analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies, and make recommendations for improvement


Education:

-     Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, or a related field

Experience:

-     2–3 years of work experience in digital communications

Must Have Skills & Experience:

-     Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills

-     Project management expertise; ability to manage overlapping responsibilities

-     Hands-on technical experience with:

-     Email marketing platforms

-     Content management systems (CMS)

-     Graphic design tools (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
