Position: Sr. Metrology Engineering Specialist
Location: York, PA
Pay: $54.15/hour
Hours: Weekend shift runs 5 am – 5 pm, Friday through Sunday. TRAIN ON 1ST SHIFT DURING THE WEEK FOR 2-3 WEEKS

The Senior Portable Metrology Engineering Technologist works under the direction of the Quality Manager, conducting laser inspection and dimensional report generation primarily for fixtures and combat vehicle structures in support of various military programs (such as AMPV, M88, Bradley, ACV, M109A7, M992A3, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate detailed reports of data for Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams
- Conduct laser inspections of new design installations for integration into manufacturing
- Perform inspection tasks for new designs and design changes using laser data
- Interface with Design Engineering, Program Management, Quality, and Manufacturing to address product issues
- Create and deliver quality inspection plans and reports that provide data to Manufacturing and customers
- Review laser data and develop preventative action plans
- Retrieve quality data and communicate results and statuses to internal and external customers
- Develop corrective action plans as necessary
Skills Required
- Comprehensive understanding and ability to apply quality assurance principles, theories, and concepts in the field
- Skilled in providing consistent, technical solutions to a wide range of problems and issues
- Ability to seek out and present alternative, imaginative solutions to more challenging problems
- Solid working knowledge of GD&T to complete inspections and interface with Design and Manufacturing to resolve complex problems
- Ability to support weekend shift following initial training of approximately 2-3 weeks on 1st shift (pending experience)
- Weekend Shift: 5 am – 5 pm, Friday through Sunday
- Ability to work independently with self-motivation, especially during off-shift hours and with limited staff support
- Experience with FARO Edge ARMS and Laser Tracking machines strongly preferred; candidates familiar with these instruments or with similar tools will also be considered
- Experience working with software that interfaces with portable metrology equipment (strong preference for Polyworks, but experience with similar software will be considered)
- Computer literacy, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Skills Preferred
- Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) manufacturing environment
- Expert proficiency in Polyworks
- Certification in ASME Y14.5
Experience & Education Required

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience or

Associate degree and 4 years of relevant experience or
- High School diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience
