Location: Hudson, NH

Contract: 12 months (possible extension or direct hire)

Schedule: Onsite | 9/80 Schedule | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | No Weekends

Compensation: $40–$45/hour | PTO | Optional Benefits

Job Summary

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring goods and services necessary to support the mission. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of federal procurement regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Planning:
  • Collaborate with program managers and other stakeholders to develop procurement strategies, determine requirements, and establish timelines.
  • Solicitation Development:
  • Prepare and issue solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs) ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Supplier Evaluation and Selection:
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, qualifications, and past performance. Conduct supplier visits, negotiations, and perform cost/price analyses.
  • Contract Negotiation:
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable contracts. Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations and ethics guidelines.
  • Contract Administration:
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance. Address issues or disputes during the contract period.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and partners to facilitate communication, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and policies. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Market Research:
  • Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to identify suppliers and drive innovation.
  • Financial Analysis:
  • Conduct cost and price analyses to ensure reasonable pricing. Monitor budgets and expenditures.
  • Collaboration and Reporting:
  • Work with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, program management) to support acquisitions. Prepare reports and briefings on procurement status.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Preferred: Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CPSM, CFCM)
  • Knowledge of federal procurement regulations (FAR, DFARS, DCMA)
  • Experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally in government or defense
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and multitasking capability
  • Proficiency with procurement and ERP software
  • U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance (if required)
