Job Summary
The Material Handler supports internal and external customers by ensuring accurate receiving, stocking, delivery, and shipment of materials. This role operates all material support equipment and performs related functions—including receiving, line operations, and shipping—within the assigned facility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Efficiently locate and pull materials or supplies listed on production or sales orders, and stock assigned production areas to maintain inventory levels.
- Accurately verify parts and quantities; prepare and complete bills of lading (BOLs) for material receipt and shipment.
- Operate all material handling equipment (e.g., stand-up forklift, sit-down forklift, combi, lancer, tugger) as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and 6S standards.
- Apply best safety practices in equipment operation and while assembling/testing materials within assigned job function.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience with material handling equipment (such as forklifts or tuggers).
- Experience in inventory management within a warehouse or manufacturing environment, or an evaluated equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six (6) months of relevant position experience.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification to safely operate material handling equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt to changing environments and processes.
- Experience with warehouse technology or electronics.
- Experience with shipment confirmation processes.
