Project Manager – Large Capital Renewable Projects
Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid Schedule)
Contract: Long-Term (12+ Months, Ongoing)
Compensation: $65–$95 per hour (W2), based on experience, with PTO and optional Benefits
About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading energy organization to identify an experienced Project Manager to support large-scale renewable energy capital projects across solar, wind, and energy storage initiatives.
This role offers the opportunity to lead high-visibility projects from design through commissioning while working alongside engineering teams, contractors, utilities, and regulatory stakeholders. If you enjoy owning projects end-to-end, driving construction execution, and contributing to the expansion of renewable infrastructure, this is an excellent opportunity to make a measurable impact.
This is a long-term contract role with no defined end date and strong potential for continued engagement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead full lifecycle management of renewable capital projects (scope, schedule, budget, risk, closeout)
- Coordinate engineering, estimating, and construction teams to ensure successful execution
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and transition into service
- Manage contractor performance, procurement strategy, and cost controls
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including internal teams, suppliers, and trade labor organizations
- Support on-site construction activities and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Mentor junior project managers and engineers as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years of project management experience
- Experience managing large-scale construction projects
- Utility or infrastructure project background
- At least 6 months of renewable energy experience (solar, wind, or energy storage)
- 3+ years of substation experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field preferred
PMP certification is a plus.
