Job Title: Corrosion Testing Specialist

Location: Jackson, MI

Pay Rate: $25/hr

Type of Role: Long-Term Contract (100% Onsite)

Overview:

We are seeking a Corrosion Testing Specialist to join our team in Jackson, MI. This role is responsible for performing physical laboratory testing methods with precision and accuracy, following standard procedures and good laboratory practices. The position requires preparation and planning of projects to meet testing specifications, validation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, monitoring of supply levels, and supporting calibration and documentation efforts. This is a 100% onsite position and requires successful completion of a drug screening.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical testing in accordance with established methods, procedures, and specifications.
  • Accurately document and maintain records for testing, calibration, and validation activities.
  • Maintain and validate laboratory equipment; conduct preventative maintenance as required.
  • Support gage R&R studies, measurement uncertainty assessments, and method validations.
  • Keep laboratory workspace clean, organized, and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Cross-train on laboratory equipment and processes to provide team support and coverage.
  • Assist with long-term testing for the Quality Control Lab when needed.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in laboratory accreditation activities and support process improvement programs.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to share project updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (0–3 years of experience), or a Bachelor’s degree with 8–16 chemistry-related credits.
  • Laboratory experience (college or professional) required; relevant industry experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with wet chemistry methods (colorimetric/potentiometric titration, pH, conductivity, density, etc.).
  • Awareness of analytical instrumentation principles (e.g., spectroscopy).
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025/14001 and ASTM/ISO/MIL standards.
  • Competent knowledge of acids, bases, oils, solubility, and related chemical properties.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Lotus Notes experience a plus.

  • Ability to work independently with good time management and prioritization.
  • Analytical problem-solving mindset with initiative to improve processes.
  • Commitment to laboratory safety and use of personal protective equipment.

Additional Details:

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Onsite panel interviews required
