Quality Technician
Location: Chantilly, VA
Contract: 6 months with possible extension or direct hire
Schedule: 9/80 schedule | 100% onsite | 2nd shift (230pm start)
Compensation: $20-$21.50/hour with optional benefits during contract
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform inspection of product/subassemblies to requirements as specified in documentation during incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
- Inspect PCBA, fabricated mechanical parts, and cables, including both visual and dimensional inspection.
- Perform inspection of purged products as requested.
- Enter inspection results into the manufacturing execution system.
- Generate non-conformance/defect reports as required.
- Conduct first article inspections to support component/part qualification.
- Read and interpret specifications and part prints.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
- Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation.
- Enforce FOE/FOD, ESD, and Calibration protocols.
- Communicate and assist in resolving quality-related problems.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in an ISO-9001 and/or AS9100 Quality System environment.
- 2+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Quality Control environment.
- 2+ years of experience in both PCBA inspection and Cable Inspection.
- IPC-A-610 certification or previously certified.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the aerospace/defense industry.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- IPC-A-620 certification or previously certified.
- Certification in J-STD, IPC-7711/7721, or previously certified.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal direct supervision or guidance on daily work.
- Knowledge of plating and conversion coating specifications is a plus.
