Cyber Engineer
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Contract: Long-term (no end date)
Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule (Work nine hours Monday–Thursday, with every other Friday off)
Compensation: $49–$54/hour, optional benefits, and paid time off
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Cyber Engineer to join our Cyber and C5ISR (Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) team. This role focuses on Cyber architecture, technology evaluation, testing, and compliance for Ground Combat Platforms. The position provides engineering management support and guidance under the platform Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering Manager, and functional management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support Cyber integration and ensure balanced, compliant system designs across vehicle platforms
- Develop, manage, and enforce system requirements, interfaces, and compliance documentation
- Lead and participate in trade studies, structured design decisions, and verification plans
- Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for development, test, and production issues
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and Design Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure system-wide Cyber compliance
- Evaluate emerging Cyber and C5ISR technologies for potential adoption
- Lead peer reviews and contribute to the development of a strong Cyber security culture across engineering teams
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, related science, or equivalent (Cyber technical certifications and management credentials considered)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience leading engineering or military projects
- Knowledge of embedded system engineering, Cyber space, and cyber warfare (offensive/defensive)
- Experience with Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA), Cyber Tabletop Exercises (CTTX), and Cross-Domain Solution sets
- Knowledge of federal Cyber regulations and standards, including NIST SP 800-37 and 800-53
- Experience developing and managing system-level cyber requirements, SSPs, POA&Ms, and other compliance documentation
- Experience in military vehicle development and integration, including electronic hardware and LRU troubleshooting
- Familiarity with software, computer science principles, and cyber-physical system security
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%
- U.S. Security Clearance required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience interpreting higher-level customer requirements and flowing them to technology areas
- Familiarity with automotive and military embedded systems
- Ability to work on or around military vehicles; must pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement)
