Overview

Our client, POWER Engineers—a leading multidiscipline engineering consulting firm supporting major utilities nationwide—is seeking an experienced Transmission & Substation Project Manager to lead large-scale Transmission & Distribution (T&D) programs for the TECO account. This is a high-impact role managing critical infrastructure projects that drive grid modernization, resiliency, and long-term system reliability.

The ideal candidate will blend strong technical knowledge with exceptional client-facing capabilities, ensuring project delivery that meets the highest standards of safety, quality, budget, and schedule. Prior TECO utility experience and a background within consulting or EPC environments are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of multimillion-dollar transmission and distribution projects—from planning and engineering through procurement, construction support, and closeout.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for TECO and other utility clients, fostering strong, trust-based relationships.
  • Develop, track, and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and progress reporting.
  • Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineers, designers, drafters, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Oversee risk management, issue resolution, change management, and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, status updates, and technical reports to internal leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in project execution and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management (required).
  • 10–20 years of project management experience within T&D environments.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering large-scale utility infrastructure projects successfully.
  • Experience supporting TECO utility projects is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience with engineering consulting firms or EPC organizations is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar project management tools.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, organizational, and client-management skills.

  • 7–10+ years of relevant project management experience
  • Mid-Senior level professional
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Prior consulting or EPC experience strongly preferred
