Position Title: Assembly Technician – Electromechanical Systems

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is critical to the production of high-quality electromechanical assemblies. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience using small hand tools, demonstrate the ability to read and follow schematics, blueprints, and detailed instructions, and have solid math and troubleshooting skills. This position requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Component Assembly:

  • Assemble products and subassemblies using hand tools (snips, cutters, pliers, etc.), power tools, and other equipment. Follow detailed instructions, blueprints, and electrical schematics with precision.

Electromechanical Assembly:

  • Perform mechanical and electrical component installation and integration for complex product builds. Verify connections and configurations against technical documentation.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct inspections on completed components and finished assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards. Identify, report, and help resolve defects or non-conformities.

Testing and Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct basic functional testing of completed assemblies. Diagnose and resolve basic assembly-related malfunctions.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of assembly tasks, test results, and issues encountered. Support traceability and documentation requirements for production and quality tracking.

Inventory and Tool Management:

  • Monitor stock levels of required components and maintain tool organization. Communicate part shortages or tool issues as needed.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with workplace regulations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Suggest and support process improvements aimed at increasing efficiency, quality, and safety in the assembly process.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or electromechanical assembly environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Comfortable using small hand tools (snips, cutters, pliers) and basic measuring devices
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow precise instructions with close attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Must obtain IPC-A-610 certification within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical training or certification in electronics or mechanical assembly
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives
