Defense Electrical Engineer
100% onsite in Chantilly, VA
Duration: 6 months (extension possible)
Pay Rate: $42-47/hr
Hours: 7:30am start time 9/80 schedule
Special Requests: Building Ruggedized Servers, and understanding high speed signals and signal characteristics. Must have 3-5 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field. This is in US Defense so candidates must be eligible for US Security Clearance for this role.
Job Description
Design and Development
- Design electrical systems, components, and products based on project requirements and specifications.
- Develop and test prototypes to ensure functionality, performance, and safety.
System Analysis
- Analyze electrical systems and circuits, perform calculations, and utilize simulation software to evaluate their performance.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
Project Management
- Plan and manage electrical engineering projects, including creating project timelines and allocating resources.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed within budget and schedule constraints.
Technical Documentation
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, diagrams, and test reports.
- Maintain accurate records of design modifications and project progress.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
Collaboration
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other professionals to integrate electrical systems into larger projects or products.
- Communicate effectively and function as part of a team to achieve project goals.
Research and Innovation
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in electrical engineering technologies and methodologies.
- Research and propose innovative solutions to enhance product performance and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Eligible to obtain US Security Clearance (not required up front but may be required down the road. Candidates that require Visa sponsorhip now or in the future do not qualify for US Security Clearance)
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in electrical circuit design, analysis, and simulation software.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Familiarity with CAD software for creating schematics and layouts.
- Ability to identify potential risks or errors and implement appropriate measures.
Experience:
- Prior experience in electrical engineering or related roles preferred.
- Practical experience with electrical testing equipment and familiarity with manufacturing processes is a plus.
