Project Manager - Transmission & Substation

Salary: $140 - 160K

Our client, a leading engineering consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multimillion-dollar Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects for the TECO account. This role offers the opportunity to lead critical infrastructure projects that support grid reliability and modernization across the region.


The successful candidate will bring both technical expertise and strong client-facing skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Candidates with prior TECO utility project experience and a background at other engineering consulting firms will be given strong preference.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of large-scale transmission and distribution projects (planning, engineering, procurement, construction support, and closeout).
  • Serve as the primary client interface for utility accounts, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and progress reports.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams, providing direction to engineers, designers, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee risk management, issue resolution, and change order processes.
  • Prepare and deliver project presentations, reports, and updates to senior leadership and client representatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project execution and client satisfaction.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management (required).
  • 7–10 years of project management experience in transmission and distribution.
  • Proven track record delivering multimillion-dollar T&D projects.
  • Experience working with TECO is strongly desired.
  • Consulting/engineering firm experience strongly desired.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools (MS Project, P6, or equivalent).

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
