Director of Accounting

Location: Woodbridge, NJ

Salary: $200–225K/year

Must-Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in public and/or private accounting or finance
• Direct lending experience (required)
• Experience in financial services or lending environments
• Proven ability to lead, scale, and develop finance and accounting teams
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and compliance standards
• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to commute to the office 3 days per week

Preferred

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Position Overview

Our fintech client is seeking a seasoned Director of Accounting to oversee and elevate the company’s financial operations. This strategic leadership role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and daily accounting management.

The Director will also play a key role in treasury management, ensuring regulatory compliance and accuracy across all financial activities. As a senior advisor to the CFO, you will collaborate with the executive team to drive organizational performance, evaluate growth initiatives, and present meaningful financial insights to internal stakeholders and the Board of Directors.

Additional responsibilities include managing external relationships with auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies, as well as leading and developing a high-performing finance team aligned with long-term business objectives.
